Owner-packed boxes are not covered for contents. Boxes packed by JEM may be reviewed differently when packing service was paid for and performed by JEM.
Protección de mudanza
Moving protection explains how valuation, packing, exclusions, claims, and customer preparation work when Jacksonville Elite Movers handles household goods, packing, loading, unloading, storage-related, or specialty moving services.
Moving protection starts before the crew arrives.
Moving protection depends on proper preparation, accurate disclosure, written documents, valuation selection, packing choices, and the type of service being performed. Customers should review their estimate, bill of lading, Terms of Service, valuation options, and any written protection or coverage documents before the move begins.
Basic released valuation is not the same as full replacement coverage. Customers who want additional protection should ask about available options before the move starts and confirm any selected coverage in writing.
Coverage depends on service type, preparation, and exclusions.
Loose, bagged, unboxed, unsafe, overloaded, leaking, or poorly packed items may be excluded or refused.
For loading-only or unloading-only jobs where the customer transports the goods, JEM does not cover transportation damage.
Additional coverage must be selected and confirmed in writing before services begin when available.
Basic valuation is limited by weight, not item replacement cost.
Unless additional valuation coverage is purchased and confirmed in writing, covered damaged household goods are valued at $0.60 per pound per article, subject to written terms, exclusions, the bill of lading, and applicable law.
Example: if a covered item weighs 20 pounds, basic released valuation would be calculated from the item’s weight, not from the retail replacement price.
Items that are not properly prepared may not be covered.
JEM will not cover damage to the contents of boxes packed by the customer.
Small items must be boxed. Loose items may be refused and are not covered when not properly packed.
JEM does not cover items loaded in bags. More than 10 trash bags may require approval and additional fees.
JEM will not cover TVs not packed by JEM or not in proper TV boxes.
For loading-only or unloading-only jobs, JEM does not cover items damaged while transported by the customer.
Customers must disconnect washing machine hoses and handle dryer outlet or plug preparation. JEM is not responsible for plumbing or electrical issues.
Some items require advance approval and paid specialty service.
Appliances, pianos, hot tubs, oversized items, safes, large equipment, unusually heavy items, and items requiring special equipment or safety review must be disclosed before the move.
JEM may refuse any item that creates bodily harm risk, unsafe lifting, unsafe access, property damage risk, or unreasonable risk to employees, customers, property, or third parties.
Report damage concerns quickly and clearly.
Customers should report concerns as soon as possible and provide clear details. JEM may request photos, move paperwork, item weight, packing information, location notes, service type, and other supporting information.
