What to arrange before a portable container is loaded.

JEM provides loading and unloading help. Your container provider handles the container booking, placement and transport under its own agreement. Confirm both schedules so the container is on site and accessible before the moving crew arrives. Send the container size, approximate inventory and the distance between the container and the building.

Container and property access

  • Confirm the placement area and any property-management restrictions with the relevant provider or property.
  • Ask the container provider about its loading rules and weight limits.
  • Share stairs, gates, long carries and the date the container is collected.
  • Identify what must remain accessible after loading.

Belongings and supplies

  • List large furniture, fragile items and pieces needing disassembly.
  • Tell JEM what packing, furniture protection and securing materials you already have.
  • Confirm which additional materials and preparation are included in the crew quote.
  • Keep documents, medication and personal essentials with you.

Loading now and unloading later

If the container is going into storage, explain when and where you expect to unload it. Items needed first should be part of the loading discussion. For unloading at a new home, prepare room labels and confirm building access before the crew is booked. Loading help at one address does not automatically include a second crew at the destination; request the work required at each location.
